Deeds of a Devil Pt. 4

In darkest night, the black turns to red...

          The small girl cried herself to sleep each night, searching for her parents, abandoned by her own clan. The girl's name was Sapphire, vampire for a mother, incubus for a father, all alone since she was a baby, hungry, sad. She wished day in and day out that she had never been born. She was scared of all things, especially the sun, as she wandered the lonesome ruins of what used to be the home of her clan. She only wished for a friend.
          As days went on, Dead and Hellfire tried to keep away from Kixan. They considered him mad, even though he let them live with him and kept them healthy. They lived every day there in fear of him, and he knew it, but chose to ignore it. Then one day, the two were just watching TV, surfing the channels, when they got to the news. "In other news, we recently have found another unconscious victim by the beach. They had two holes in their neck, just as the others. They still have a pulse, but we still are looking for the culprit to these attacks." the reporter on the TV said. "This is bad, that's five this week..." Dead said, worried. "Yeah, but what can we do about it?" Hellfire asked. "We go." Dead replied, walking outside. Hellfire followed him, worried about what to do. They waited for night to fall, and searched for anyone who could've been the attacker. "Dead...how do we even know the culprit will come?" Hellfire asked. "We don't, but I have a hunch." Dead said, looking around. Out of the corner of his eye, Hellfire saw a pair of silver eyes, staring at them as he walked faster, scared.
         Dead soon saw the construction site for a skyscraper as he climbed up it. "Dead, we shouldn't be here." Hellfire said. "So what? We're looking for an attacker, so come on." Dead replied as the two climbed. Soon they reached the twentieth floor. Then the two saw the pair of silver eyes, watching them in the darkness. "Um...hi?" Dead asked. "Hello..." a girl's voice said. Hellfire hid behind Dead, nervously as Dead watched the eyes. "And good-bye..." the voice said again as she charged at Dead. He blocked her attack as she attempted to knock him out. He threw her back as she flew up and at him again. He punched her in the stomach and threw her back again. She was at the edge of the floor as she began to cry. "How could you hit a girl?" she asked, crying as she sat up. "Oh, I-I'm sorry, Miss..." Dead said, walking to her. She then smiled evily as she sweeped at his legs. He fell and she climbed on top of him and began to slam her fists at his face. He got hit in the mouth a few times as he began to bleed. He attempted to get her off, but she pinned him down. She then bit his neck, but then reeled back as she screamed. Dead got up and watched her as she spat out his blood. "You...you're a demon...you could've killed me!" she yelled, really mad as she tried to kick him. He blocked her and punched her in the side as hard as he could. She fell to the ground and groaned loudly. Dead then walked to her, preparing the final blow. "Wait! Stop!" she yelled, scared now. "And why should I?" he asked. "I'm sorry! Just please leave me be!" she screamed, cringing in fear. "But you hurt all those innocent people..." Dead said. "Only cause I was hungry, you don't know what it's like being a vampire! Never coming out during the day, always craving blood, having so many people hating you..." she said, beginning to cry. He just watched her as she cried, not trusting her. Hellfire peeked out of hiding as Dead sat next to her. "Come on, it'll be fine...sorry for hurting you..." he said, patting her back.
          She fell onto his lap and cried on him as he rubbed her head. "You can stay with us if you want, Miss." Dead said. "Really?" she said, looking at him, still crying a bit. "Yeah, we got plenty of room." Dead said. She smiled and hugged him tightly. "What's your name anyways?" Dead asked. "I'm Sapphire." she said. "I'm Dead, and this is Hellfire." he said, pointing to Hellfire. She waved as Dead tried to get up. "Carry me?" Sapphire asked him. He sighed as he picked her up and she held onto him, yawning. She fell asleep as the two walked back to Kixan's house. "Lemme guess, you want her to stay with us?" Kixan asked. "Yes, Mr. Kixan." Dead said, holding her as she slept. "Fine, but you need to watch over her." Kixan said as he walked to his room. Dead went up to the extra bedroom and set Sapphire down in the bed as Hellfire and him went to sleep, ready for the next adventure.
